Why is the Seattle BrewMuster in Edmonds?
Gallagher’s is a great facility for brewing quality beer. Unfortunately, we couldn’t find the equivalent in the Seattle metro area. Edmonds is just a short trip up I-5 from Seattle so we feel the trip will be well worth it.
Do I need to know how to brew beer?
You don’t even need to know how to drink beer. You will have step-by-step instructions and a brewmaster close at hand.
What does my $60 cover?
The $60 covers the ingredients, use of professional brewing equipment, and bottles. Basically, it covers everything you need to make your beer. The sponsor of this event (The CrapMonkey Podcast) makes no profit off of the BrewMuster event and every dollar goes toward the cause. This event is designed to help muster up a group of people who love good conversation and are interested in learning more about the art of brewing beer. It is not designed to turn a profit.
How will my brew group be chosen?
You can choose your own group or be randomly assigned to one. It’s up to you!
Do I need to have a group of 4 in order to buy a ticket?
Absolutely not. You will be assigned to a brew group of at least 3 other brewers.
Can I drink beer while I’m brewing beer?
Of course! Unfortunately, beers for drinking are not covered in the ticket price. Pints of many great beers are available for $4.50 each.
Do I have to brew to attend?
No. If friends or family are brewing and you just want to come have a beer, and hang out, that’s perfectly fine (but you’ll have more fun if you’re brewing).
When do I get my beer?
You and your brew group can decide when you’d like to come back to bottle your beers. Usually this would be about 2 weeks following the brewing process, but the timing is flexible.
Did you mention something about a beer judging?
Yes! You’ll have a chance to win a prize when the beer is judged and winners are announced via a live BrewMuster webcast later this Summer.
Can I buy Tickets right up to the last minute?
Unfortunately not. Due to our need to reserve space for this event, ticket sales will be cut off on Saturday June 5th, one week prior to the event. There are only 24 brewing spots available in total, so get your tickets now!
How much beer is in a batch? How much beer to I get when I’m done?
Each brew group will make a full batch of beer. A full batch equates to 132 x 12 ounce bottles of beer. Since brew groups will have 4 brewers per group, you’ll each get approximately 33 bottles of beer when you are finished. Of course, you’ll want to sacrifice one of them for the beer judging later this summer.
What if something comes up at the last minute and I can’t attend?
Unfortunately, we won’t be able to provide a refund if that happens because we have to buy the beer in batches. However, though you’ll miss the fun and learning that comes with brewing your own beer, you will still get the beer that your brew group produces on your behalf (approximately 33 bottles). So even if you don’t make it, you’ll still get your money’s worth!
How long does it take to brew beer?
On the 13th, plan to spend a little over 2 hours brewing.
How Did BrewMuster get its name?
BrewMuster is the combination of the words Brew and Muster. Brew: to make (beer, ale, etc.) by steeping, boiling, and fermenting malt and hops. Muster: to come together; collect; assemble; gather. We’re gathering together great people to brew great beer so the term BrewMuster seemed appropriate. After a few BrewMusters you may find that you are quite the Brewmaster.
